Australian Welsh Green Wedding

Rachel & Blaize were one of our incredible Return-to-Wales couples who got married at the beautiful and magical Ceridwen Centre on the North Pembs/Carmarthenshire border. The site at Pen y banc farm is at Drefelin, Drefach Felindre near Llandysul and is the base for Welsh Green Weddings which hosts some of the most ethical and beautiful weddings in West Wales

Rachel got in touch with us from Australia just a few weeks before getting married in October 2015 – she was clear that she wanted lots of DIY flowers for her and her family to put together for table decorations but also for us to provide full floristry for her bouquets, buttonholes and to create flower and foliage arches at the pagoda and garden arch.

With a burgundy, dark red, cream and green theme we created this floral arch for the pagoda with feverfew, roses, amaranthus, alchemical and sedum… add in a beautiful bride with a flowing train and Tim Bishop’s Photography and wow!

The Ceridwen Centre provides a huge tipi for weddings during the summer and early autumn and the gateway between the wild meadow and the tipi is marked by the garden arch. Continuing with more cream, greens and burgundy we dressed the garden arch to include crab apples and roses. The couple strung crystals throughout – it was lovely!

Inside the tipi Rachel and Blaize used our DIY buckets of flowers to dress their tables – together with lacy paper doilies hessian scrim and lace runners plus welsh slate place names.

Rachel wanted her bouquet to be simple dark red roses with cream and hints of burgundy.
