Its been a good while since the lovely Nadia & Nick were married last May and as we’re planning flowers with couples for this May’s weddings it feels a wonderful time to reflect on this inspirational wedding at the Corran Resort & Spa near Laugharne. Nadia & Nick’s wedding was truly beautiful in every detail. The challenge for us as florists and growers was bringing together the wildflower just-picked loose and natural vibe that Nadia dreamed of to step-up to the stunning elegance of the bride’s and maids’ dresses weaving-in lots of greens, soft pinks and hints of other colours. We used a handful of specialist-grown roses together with local-grown blooms and we were over-the-moon to see the incredible pictures from Nikki Cooper Photography showing this all off. Together with some of the Facebook pictures and a handful of our own snaps we hope we’ve caught the deeper sense of pure joy this wedding conveyed – magical!
Using lots and lots of foliage with bright greens, whites and just a hint of daisy with tiny pink roses we tucked in some of our wild meadow buttercups and deep blue clematis to create these stunning wild and loose hand tied bouquets. I love the way Nikki Cooper captures the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets in these pictures
The ceremony included a beautiful Krishna-inspired ceremony and blessing
and it was wonderful for us to meet both Nadia’s mum Lesley and Kripamoya Dasa who performed the ceremony. As Lesley, some of the bridesmaids and I trimmed the buckets of locally grown and wild flowers to fill the countless jars and jugs for the tables he came to rescue lost petals and hidden blooms to scatter – everything was cherished!
and by the look of it the home-made cakes were also in abundance!
These are incredible pictures of the ceremony
We included long-stemmed meadow buttercups and anemones and thet just sang out!
Flower girls each carried one of these little baskets of petals to scatter
Nadia wore a light flower crown – we also made small hair pieces for the bridesmaids – all matching with the buttonholes for the groomsmen
Later, the couple used Willow Oak Hampers for guests picnics – gorgeous!
All in all this has to be one of the most inspirational weddings we’ve been lucky enough to be part of – and one of the biggest compliments is seeing how Nadia was still enjoying her bouquet whilst putting her feet up and relaxing with her husband in the beautiful West Wales countryside the day after her wedding! Brilliant!
