Around 20 of these huge funnelcaps are growing in the woodlands and they look wonderful. As science explores more of the mycorrhizal world of fungi – we’re increasingly discovering that plants use mushrooms and toadstools to absorb nutrients through the superfine mycelium growing in the earth. We can’t eat these Clouded Funnel – but who knows what goodness they’re adding to our soil?
